Autohive vs OpenAI Agent Builder

OpenAI is retiring Agent Builder on 30 November 2026. Move your agent workflows to Autohive, where business teams build, run and change them without code, on OpenAI's models and every other leading lab's.

Why Agent Builder teams are moving to Autohive

Built for business teams, not just developers

Describe the job and Agent Creator builds the agent. The people who run the process can change it themselves, without waiting for a developer or a deploy.

Keep GPT. Add every other lab.

Run OpenAI's latest models in Autohive alongside Claude, Gemini, Grok and open-source models, chosen per agent and mixed in one workflow.

Agent Builder is going away. Your workflows don't have to.

OpenAI is winding down Agent Builder, and from 30 November 2026 it will no longer be available on the OpenAI platform. Autohive gives the same kind of workflow a permanent, no-code home. Here's how they compare today.

Moving off Agent Builder? We'll help.

Bring an Agent Builder workflow to a 20-minute call and we'll rebuild it in Autohive with you, live, on the same OpenAI models you use today.

Example

A 40-person insurance broker built a claims-intake workflow in Agent Builder and needs it running after 30 November

The Autohive Way
Day 1:
The operations lead describes the claims-intake steps to Agent Creator. The agent connects to Outlook, SharePoint and the broker's CRM.
Week 1:
A workflow starts from a webhook when a claim form arrives, loops through the attachments, drafts a summary and waits for a claims handler's approval.
Week 2:
Claims staff ask the agent for a claim's status in Microsoft Teams. Nobody needs a developer to change a step.
Month 1:
GPT keeps the writing and a lower-cost model reads the documents. Owners see hours saved on the Home dashboard.
Result:
The workflow outlives the deadline and belongs to the team that runs it.
The Agent Builder Way
Day 1:
A developer exports the workflow from the Agent Builder canvas to Agents SDK code.
Week 1:
The team chooses hosting, logging and a front end, such as ChatKit, before the canvas is switched off.
Week 2:
Prompt and step changes now go through the developer and a code deploy.
Month 1:
The workflow runs as code the business maintains, on OpenAI models.
Result:
It keeps working, as a software project with an owner in IT.

Frequently asked questions

When is OpenAI Agent Builder shutting down?

OpenAI says Agent Builder and Evals will no longer be available on its platform from 30 November 2026. It recommends the Agents SDK for workflows that should continue as code, and workspace agents in ChatGPT for prompt-based use.

Can I rebuild my Agent Builder workflows in Autohive?

Yes. Autohive workflows have triggers, agent steps, loops, spreadsheet rows and approval steps, all without code. Bring one to a 20-minute call and we'll rebuild it with you.

Can I keep using OpenAI's models?

Yes. Autohive includes OpenAI's current models, including GPT-6.1 Sol, alongside Claude, Gemini, Grok and open-source models. You choose the model for each agent.

Do we need developers to run Autohive?

No. Agent Creator builds an agent from a plain-language description, and the people who run a process can change its workflow themselves. There's no code to host or deploy.

Is Autohive secure?

Autohive is SOC 2 Type II attested, encrypts data in transit and at rest, keeps an audit log of actions by people and agents, and never uses your data to train AI models.
